Harvey L. Greene 76, of Toms River, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday June 8th, 2022. Harvey was born in East Orange, New Jersey on August 15th, 1945. He lived in Belleville, New Jersey before moving to Toms River 49 years ago.
Harvey was a man of many talents. In his younger years he worked as a butcher, mechanic, shop teacher, and as a technician for Bell Laboratory in New York City. When Harvey moved to Toms River in 1973, he became a licensed plumber and opened his own business. After he retired from his plumbing business, he became a Project Manager for New Jersey Natural Gas for many years and retired in 2017.
Harvey loved being in his garden, skiing, working on cars, golfing, canoeing, cooking, woodworking, and especially being outdoors with his family. He was a hard worker who was happiest while working in a trench or on his backhoe with his beloved dogs beside him.
Harvey was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He loved learning new skills and was always looking to pass his knowledge on to those around him. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed by all.
Harvey is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Georgianna (Pellegrino), his three children, Lisa & Sean Gilmartin, Michael & Christine Greene, and Heather & Adam Cervino. Harvey is also survived by his grandchildren Stefan & Alyssa Gilmartin, Kathleen Greene, Ethan Gilmartin, Maya Gilmartin, Evelyn Greene, River Cervino, Skye Cervino, and Michael Greene Jr.
