Helen (Miller) Calvanico

Helen Calvanico (nee Miller), 94, of Lavallette, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 8, 2025, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. Helen was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, and was a Branch Manager with Garden State Bank on Journal Square in Jersey City for over 30 years.

Helen had summered with her family in Lavallette for many years and in 1984 she and husband Manny Calvanico moved permanently to Lavallette, where she became a devout parishioner of St. Pio of Pietrelcina RC Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents George Miller and Helen (DeMarrais) Miller; by her husband of 60 years Manny; and by siblings Ruth Bolger, Grace Filak, Alice Reilly, Edith Critelli, and George Miller. Surviving her are dear sons Robert M. Calvanico of New York, NY and Thomas P. Calvanico and wife Ann Cassidy Calvanico of Rumson, NJ; her two cherished grandchildren Allison and Nico; and her many nieces and nephews.

Helen’s family will have a funeral mass on Friday March 14, 2025, at 10 A.M. at St. Pio of Pietrelcina RC Church in Lavallette.

Services are under the direction of the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals.
