Henry "Hank" F. Franz

Henry "Hank" Frederick Franz, 86, of Whiting, NJ, died on Thursday, May 11, 2023.

Born September 16, 1936 in North Bergen, NJ, he lived many years in Lanoka Harbor, NJ before moving to Whiting. 

Henry was dedicated to his faith and was a Deacon and Treasurer at the Forked River Baptist Church in Lanoka Harbor for many years.

He was a United States Army Veteran and a retired Letter Carrier of the USPS in Toms River, NJ. He was an active member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He enjoyed working on the Boardwalk in Seaside after his retirement from the post office. Henry coached many youth soccer and baseball teams in Lacey Township, NJ. He was a lifelong NY Yankee and NY Giants fan. Henry was known for his insatiable appetite for ice cream, cake and cookies! All who knew him loved him! 

Predeceased by his parents Henry and Nettie(Dittner), surviving are his loving wife of almost 65 years, Catherine "Kay"(Toomy), four children Lisa Ellis, Sharon, Marc and his fiance Betsy, Lorna Ambrose and her husband Paul, five grandchildren Justin and wife Jennifer, Jonah and wife Ashley, Marc Jr and Amy, Ryan, Ivy and husband Calvin and three great grandchildren Jacob, Emma and Colton. 

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:30-5:30pm followed by a brief service held on Friday May 19, 2023 at the Forked River Baptist Church at 21 Haines St., Lanoka Harbor, NJ. Casual dress preferred. 

Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, is in charge of the arrangements.
