Henry “Hank” Iacono, 94, of Holiday City West section of Berkeley Twsp., NJ, died on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ.
Hank was born in New York, NY and lived in Berkeley Twsp., NJ for 36 years. He proudly served his country in the US Navy, where he was a veteran of WWII and Korea. Hank retired from the Navy Dept. after 38 years in 1983. He worked 20 years in Brooklyn and 18 years in the Philadelphia Shipyards.
Hank was a member of VFW Post 9503 Bayville, and past President of the HCW Men’s Club and past Treasurer of the HCW Bowling league. He also was involved in HCW Bingo, where his greatest joy was handing money to the winning players.
Hank is predeceased by his first wife, Concetta Iacono, and his baby daughter, Lisa Maria Iacono.
Surviving is his wife Elizabeth (Maguire) Rice Iacono; his children Anthony Iacono of Matawan, NJ, Diane Baaden and her husband John of Bear, DE and Stephen Iacono and his wife Sally of Chandler, AZ; his sister Rae Battaglino of Cherry Hill, NJ; his 4 grandchildren and his 8 great grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 3:00pm -7:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, November 23, 2020 at 10:00am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church in Berkeley Twsp., NJ.
