Irene (Baselice) Metzner

Irene Metzner, 82 of Jackson, passed from this life peacefully at home surrounded by her family.  Irene was born August 7, 1939 in West New York, New Jersey to the late Francis Baselice and Angela Mongiello Baselice.  She was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother thru to great- great grandmother as well as a good friend to all.  She enjoyed her Lord Jesus Christ, giving selflessly and caring for all that were so fortunate to have her in their lives.  Irene had a lifelong passion for nature and boating at her lake home in Vermont and the open waters of the ocean. Irene created many events full of fun times for family and friends to gather, we all enjoyed her outstanding talents of cooking, baking and entertaining.  She and all the good memories she created for us all will always carry on in all our lives.  She touched and loved so many, unconditionally!

Irene is predeceased by her parents, Francis Baselice; Angela Mongiello Baselice; daughter Theresa Maria Metzner and sister, Christine Behrens.

Irene is survived by her husband, Howard Metzner; son, Howard Metzner, III and his wife Christine of Port Charlotte, Florida; daughters, Theresa Marie Petruzzelli and her husband Steven of Crawford, Georgia; Denise Tullo and her husband Craig of Jackson; brother, Emanuel Baselice of Arizona; sister, Genevieve Martino and her husband Angelo of Whiting; 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday September 15, 2021 at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals DeBow Chapel, 150 West Veterans Hwy, Jackson, New Jersey.  Service/Viewing to begin at 10 am until 11:15 am. Burial to follow at Brigadier General William C Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, Wrightstown, New Jersey.
