James J Borgs

James J. Borgs, 74 of Freehold, passed from this life peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, with his family by his side.  James was born January 7, 1949, in Queens, New York, to the late James and Elizabeth Borgs. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and grandfather. He enjoyed times on the boardwalk, trips to Cape May, and the Zoo. He collected stamps as a hobby and was a history buff.  He was an avid Poker player and a fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Giants.  He loved watching movies; his favorite one was The Thing from Another World. He enjoyed spending time and making memories with his precious grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He worked for International Telephone and Telegraph as the office manager for many years, then he worked as the office manager for Belair & Evans in NY, NY.   

James is predeceased by his parents, James Borgs and Elizabeth Johosky Borgs.

James is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rebecca Fried Borgs; daughter, Dr. Dawn Maier and her husband, Larry Maier of Monmouth Junction; grandchildren, Robert Maier and Mandy Maier.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 4pm to 8pm, and Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 10:30 to 11:30am at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd, Toms River. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023,11:30am at the funeral home.  Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River, NJ.
