James Peter Pissott, 74, of Toms River, NJ passed away Monday, April 24, 2023.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, he lived in Whiting, NJ before moving to Toms River 5 years ago.
Jim worked in construction for Stanley Contracting, Whiting, NJ.
He was a decorated United States Army Vietnam War veteran and was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp.
Jim’s biggest achievement was his son and daughter, which then gave him an amazing daughter in law and son in law. He was his grandkids’ #1 fan in everything they did.
He was an avid lover of classic cars, spending countless hours fixing and tweaking his cars. He could fix just about anything. Jim was a true handyman/jack of all trades.
Jim was predeceased by his parents, Ambrose and Wilhelmina Pissott, his brothers William and Henry Pissott and his sisters Anna Marie Yurkon and Dorothy Budka.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Florence (nee Ford) Pissott, his son and daughter in law James, Jr. and Josephine Pissott of Toms River, a daughter and son in law Michele and Andy Thomas of Toms River, two sisters Elizabeth Meyers and Patricia Polack, and five grandchildren Andrew, Gia, Justine, Emma, and Robby.
Jim is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday 4:00pm – 7:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, April 29, 2023 10:00am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp.
