James Peter Vuocolo, 77, of Barnegat, NJ, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, he lived in Toms River for 40 years, then Mays Landing, NJ before moving to Barnegat three years ago.
Jim retired as a Detective for the Dover Township Police Department (now Toms River Police Department) after many years of service.
He was a trustee and founding member of the 200 Club of Ocean County, a leader in the New Jersey State PBA and past delegate of Toms River Local 137, and a long-standing chairman of the Blue Mass Committee, for the Diocese of Trenton.
Jim was a parishioner of St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River and St. Catharine of Siena RC Church, Parish of St. Junipero Serra, Seaside Park.
He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Jeanette Vuocolo.
Jim is survived by his wife of 60 years Joyce (nee Riccardi) Vuocolo, his two children James P. Vuocolo, Jr. and Jeanette Falotico, a brother Joseph Vuocolo, a sister Elaine Teemer and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday May 30th, 2025 10am at St. Joseph RC Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River, NJ.
Services are under the direction of the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.
