Jean Lodato (nee Ferrentino), 102, of Sunnyside Manor, Wall Twp., NJ, formerly a longtime resident of Clifton, NJ, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 31, 2024.
Born in Bloomfield, NJ, she grew up in Newark, NJ and lived in North Arlington, NJ before moving to Clifton, NJ in 1952. Jean lived in Clifton for 64 years before moving to Sunnyside Manor, where she spent the last 8 years of her life under the care of the nurses and staff. She continued until the very end with an active life.
Jean worked for Wallace & Tiernan in Belleville, NJ in the 1940’s and early 1950’s. She was a homemaker who enjoyed needlepoint, reading, and word puzzles.
Jean was an excellent cook and loved to bake. She loved to travel and spent many winters in Florida and South Carolina with her late husband, John.
She was a parishioner of St. Andrew’s RC Church, Clifton, NJ for 64 years and was active in the “39ers” Senior Club.
Jean was predeceased by her husband of 75 years, John Lodato.
She is survived by her two daughters Deborah McCormack and her husband Jack of Lavallette, NJ and Karen Kosnik and her husband Jack of Waretown, NJ, four grandchildren John McCormack and his spouse Donna, Laura Henry and her spouse Tim, Gina Bowman and her spouse Chris, Joe Montefusco and his spouse Stacey and eight great grandchildren.
Services and interment will be private and under the direction of the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Grand Central Ave., Lavallette, NJ.
