Jemma Kasper, 95 of Forked River, formerly of Toms River and Avenel, passed from this life at her home surrounded by her family. Jemma was born March 4, 1926 in Bayonne, New Jersey to the late Jerome and Bessie Santacroce. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was very active in her Silver Ridge Park North community: playing cards, mahjong, and bocce, of which her team was the champion one year. She also enjoyed playing cards and board games with her family. For many years she was a volunteer at Community Medical Center receiving the Volunteer of the Year award.
Jemma is predeceased by her husband, Stephen Kasper in 1994; her son-in-law, Philip J. Rosinski in 1990; and her grandson, Michael P. Rosinski in 2021.
Jemma is survived by her daughters, Betty Burnett of Rahway, Christine Rosinski of Forked River, Lori Stefan and her husband James of Howell; sister Philomena Heim; and five grandchildren, Brian Burnett and wife, Alexis of North Carolina; Christopher Rosinski and wife, Lauren of Massachusetts; Robbie Burnett of Woodbridge; Jimmy Stefan of Howell; Amanda Grimme and husband Mike of Manahawkin. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren who lovingly called her Grandma Jemma: Beckett and Berkley Burnett; and Vivienne and Avery Rosinski.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 8:30 to 10:00 am with a service to begin at 9:30 am at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. Entombment will follow the service at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Inman Ave., Colonia.
