Joan M. (Ganley) Heaney

Joan M. Heaney (nee Ganley) of Holiday City Carefree, Berkeley Twp., NJ passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026.

Born in Bronx, NY, she lived in East Brunswick, NJ before moving to Berkeley Twp. 26 years ago.

Joan worked at New York Bell Telephone for many years before her retirement. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Bernard C. Heaney in 2020.

Joan is survived by her three children Elizabeth Olszuk and her husband Michael of Waxhaw, NC, Carol Heaney of Helmetta, NJ, and Joseph Heaney of Orlando, FL, , four grandchildren Michael Olszuk and his wife Jessica, Nicole Murtha and her husband Andrew, Brian Heaney, Meghan Rudich and her husband Ruslan and seven great grandchildren Patrick, Madison and Emma Murtha; Dawson, Kierstyn and Declan Olszuk; and Ruslan Rudich.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 26, 2026 2:00pm – 6:00pm and Monday, April 27, 2026 9:00am - 10:15am with a funeral service at 9:30am at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick, NJ.
