John F. Acer

John F. Acer, 96, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Staten Island before moving to Toms River in 1995.

John proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.  He then established a career as a Loan Officer for Chemical Bank in Manhattan, NY.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Margaret “Peggy” Acer, his son Johnny, his parents Christopher and Mary Agnes (Crawford) Acer, as well as his siblings; Joseph, Christopher, Paul, Gerard, Margaret, and Mary.

John is survived by his loving children Barbara and her husband Roger Mazone of St Augustine, FL, Patricia Polkowske of Austin, TX, Michael and his wife Patrice Acer of Yardley, PA, Peggy and her husband John Stack of Wantagh, NY, and Kathleen and her husband Mike Giblin of Middletown, NJ, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am at St Maximilian Kolbe RCC, Toms River, NJ. Interment will follow to the BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
