John Alex Crowley

John Alex Crowley, 31 of New York, gained his wings Friday, October 23, 2020. John was born December 8, 1988 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Jack Crowley and Nadine Crowley (Hudak). John was a loving son, loyal brother and trusted friend. He was a person that could light up any room with his energy and positive nature. Friends old and new were always welcomed with open arms, and there was always a board game to play or an adventure ready on which to embark. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

John worked as a concierge specialist with Boston Consulting Group in New York City with a bachelor’s degree in English from Christopher Newport University and a master’s degree in creative writing from Regent University. His adventurous spirit took him to Japan to teach English for several years after college, and his passion for fitness lead to his certification as a Body Pump Instructor. There was nothing he couldn’t do once he set his mind to it.

John was an avid gamer, fervent writer, and ardent supporter of both human and LGBTQ rights.

John is predeceased by his grandparents, John Crowley; Al and Mary Hudak; his uncle John Hudak and cousin John Hudak Jr.

John is survived by his parents, Jack and Nadine Crowley (Hudak) of Powhatan, Virginia; his brother, Kevin Crowley and wife Kaitlyn of Williamsburg, Virginia; his grandmother, Petrie Crowley of Whiting, New Jersey; his uncle and aunt, Al and Lori Pezzella (Hudak) of Seaside Park, New Jersey; his uncle and aunt, Mike and Emily Crowley of Lawrenceville, New Jersey; his aunt, Karen Penoza (Crowley) of Glacier Lake, Washington; and his cousins, Franco and Alex Pezzella, Conner and Aiden Crowley, Kai Penoza and Jenny Hudak.
