John Lodato, age 100, born August 2, 1920 in New York City, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.
John grew up in Lyndhurst, NJ. He married his wife of 75 years Jean (Ferrentino) on September 22, 1945. They lived in North Arlington, moved to Clifton in 1952 and lived there until August 2016. They then moved to Sunnyside Manor in Wall, NJ.
John attended Fairleigh Dickinson University; he then worked for the Naval Civil Service in Passaic during the 40’s and early 50’s. He established a long-term career as an Office Manager in the Semi-Conductor Industry.
Woodworking was his hobby, he made and refurnished many pieces of furniture for his family. For many years, he also enjoyed communicating with others on his short-wave radio. He enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Florida and South Carolina with his wife. John was a parishioner of St Andrew’s RC Church in Clifton for 64 years. He was an usher, past president of the Holy Name Society, member of the Knights of Columbus, and an active member of the “39ers” Senior Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents Salvatore and Clara (Manucci) Lodato, as well as his siblings; George and Rose.
John is survived by his wife Jean, his daughters Deborah and her husband Jack McCormack, and Karen and her husband Jack Kosnik, four grandchildren; John and his wife Donna McCormack, Laura and her husband Tim Henry, Gina and her husband Chris Bowman, and Joe and his wife Stacey Montefusco, and eight great grandchildren.
All arrangements are private and entrusted to the care of the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Highway 35N, and Lavallette, NJ.
