John "Buddy" J. Milanak

John J. “Buddy” Milanak, 75, of Toms River, NJ passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

Born and raised in Newark, NJ, he lived in Winfield Park, NJ before moving to Toms River 40 years ago.

John was a Flooring Contractor and business owner of JonDana Carpet Service in Toms River for many years.

He served in the New Jersey National Guard.

John was predeceased by his parents John and Olga Milanak, and his beloved dog Frosty.

He is survived by his two children Dana Milanak of Point Pleasant, NJ, Jon Milanak of Toms River, NJ, granddaughter Makayla Milanak, his former wife Nancy Milanak, sister Ann Marie Milanak-Sherry and half-sister Vickie Preston, and his loving dog Pippa.

Buddy had a love of fashion and an education in art school.  He was the best dressed flooring contractor around with his work jeans and t-shirt pressed.  Bud’s hair was ALWAYS perfect, so don’t even think about putting the windows down on a nice day.  He was one of the tannest men on the beach, an amazing pool player, loved old classic cars, and somehow always managed to let his kids know the local weather report of when a bad storm was coming.  If you ever saw Buddy driving around town, he had his best friend Pippa with him.  Any time he was over, all of the dogs were by his side.  He had that special connection to the dogs as well as giving them extra snacks. 

Bud loved his whole family with his heart and soul and truly wanted everyone to be happy.  He had a very special bond with his Granddaughter Makayla.  He was involved with her sports, watching movies, and specialized in Pop Pop’s Taxi Service for Makayla and her friends and loved every minute of it.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.  A funeral service will be offered Thursday, June 13, 2024 10:00am at the funeral home.  Entombment to follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge, NJ.
