Jorge L. Espada

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jorge L. Espada, 59, of Toms River, NJ. Jorge passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Although born in Puerto Rico, he was raised and lived in Toms River. Jorge was the owner and operator of Toms River Electric. Jorge wore many hats: fisherman, gardener, weatherman, Mr. Fix it, and master chef. Fishing was one of Jorge’s favorite things to do. He may not have always brought home dinner, but he enjoyed himself while doing it. Being an outdoorsy man, Jorge always made sure he had a perfectly landscaped yard filled with vegetables and beautiful flowers. The “Master Chef’s” love for cooking came a little later on in life. Some of his famous dishes were homemade pasta, cuban sandwiches, spanish rice and anything you can throw in a smoker or on a grill. When he found his new talent, his whole family enjoyed it. He is preceded in death by his father, Juan Espada-Perez and his brother, Leslie Espada. Jorge is survived by his beloved wife, Christine (Appolloni) Espada, and his children; Jorge C. Espada Sr. and his wife Jenna, and Nicole Espada and her fiancé Mario Rogel Jr. He was the proud “Pop” to three cherished grandchildren; Mario Rogel III, Lunabelle Rogel, and Jorge C. Espada Jr. He is also survived by his mother, Pauline Conde, his brothers, Henry Espada, John Espada, and Felix Espada, and sisters, Ana Garcia, Rose Oliveira, Miriam Rodriguez, and Cindy Carrasquillo. Jorge was fondly remembered by many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 4 to 8pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St Catherine Blvd, Toms River, NJ. A Funeral Service will be offered at 5pm at the funeral home. Commital will be private.
