Joseph Catania Jr. Obituary

Joseph “JUNIOR” Catania of Holiday City, Toms River, passed away quietly on Saturday, May 30th with family by his side.

Life is not measured by a diploma, but by how you live your life, and the “School of Hard Knocks.” Having been born on June 26, 1931 in Orange, NJ; he lived in East Orange, NJ, married at the age of 20 to Anne Marie Masullo. In 1964 they then moved to Kenilworth, NJ to raise their three beautiful daughters, Maryann, Joan, and Linda. He spent the rest of his retirement years residing in Toms River.

He was a veteran of the US Army, inducted in 1951 during the Korean War. He was a Teamster working out of Locals 478 and 560 as a Truck Driver for IPI in Elizabeth, NJ.

Predeceased by his parents Joseph Sr and Mary Collura. He is survived by his wife Anne Marie (Masullo), his three daughters; Mary Ann(Catania) Bevilaque and husband Mark, Joan Catania, Linda Catania and husband Vincent Conte, his four grandchildren; Mark Jr, Nina (DeAngelis) Kelleher and husband Diarmuid, Danielle and Nicholas, and two great grandchildren; Collins and Declan.

Joseph was a dedicated and loving father. His proudest achievement was raising his three daughters. He was their greatest champion, their first teacher. He was a dedicated father and grandfather who loved his family deeply, he was always happiest when surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He loved family vacations with his wife and daughters, travelling to many destinations for several years until he could no longer do it.

He leaves behind a legacy of strength, devotion and family values that will live on through him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 75 years, his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
