Josephine Barnett Obituary

Josephine Barnett, 88 of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, passed from this life peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. Josephine was born May 28, 1937 in Newark to the late Anthony and Antoinette Maione. She was a devoted wife, loving sister and trusted friend. 

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Josephine, a remarkable woman whose presence was the heartbeat of her family. For 26 years, she stood as a devoted wife, a steadfast partner in life's joys and challenges. Her love and unwavering support shaped those around her, creating a foundation of strength and warmth. Her Strong will carried her through many medical difficulties.

A true matriarch, she was the pillar of wisdom and guidance for her family. Her nieces and nephews adored her, cherishing the way she uplifted and nurtured them with love, humor,  and sage advice. Whether offering words of encouragement or simply sharing laughter, she made every moment spent with her a cherished memory.

Her passion for casino gambling was more than just a pastime—it was an adventure she embraced with enthusiasm. She relished the thrill of the game, the camaraderie, and the excitement, finding joy in the lively energy of the casino floor

She also Enjoyed baking and cooking always bringing a delicious dish to every family gathering.

Her wisdom, her kindness, and her unwavering devotion to family will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Rest in peace, dear Josephine. You were truly one-of-a-kind, and your spirit will forever shine brightly in the memories of those who loved you.

Josephine is predeceased by her parents, Anthony Maione; Antoinette Pugliese; brother, Angelo Maione and sister, Lucille Centanni.

Josephine is survived by her husband, Steven Barnett; brothers, Anthony Maione; Philip Maione and his wife Karen; and sister, Anna Ravo.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, June 8, 2025 from 2:00pm - 6:00pm and Monday June 9, 2025 10:00am – 11:00am at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.  Entombment to follow on Monday at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Toms River.
