Joyce (Lemongello) Burns

Joyce Burns (nee Lemongello), 82, of the West Point Island section of Lavallette, NJ, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born in Newark, NJ, she was raised in Clifton, NJ, before settling in Lavallette almost 50 years ago.

Joyce was a Realtor, working with Van Sciver Realty in Mantoloking, NJ.

She was a lifelong devotee of St. Gerard of Majella, traveling to St. Lucy's Church in Newark every year for the Saint's feast day, a parishioner of St. Catharine RC Church in Seaside Park, NJ, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Knights of Columbus, Lavallette, a 43-year member of the Lavallette Yacht Club, previously serving as the Club's Secretary, and a member of the Junior OPTS in Clifton, NJ.

Predeceased by her loving parents Albert and Angelina Lemongello, husband William C. and son Kevin.

She is survived by her sons William and his wife Erin, Brian and his wife Carrie, and Sean and his wife Pamela; eight grandchildren, Margaret, William, Shannon, Delaney, Mickey, Carleigh, Cassidy, and Kevin; one great-grandson Calvin; cousin, whom she loved as a sister, Rosemary Maloney; and her God daughter Stephanie.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Grand Central Ave., Lavallette, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday at 10:00am at St. Catharine of Sienna RC Church, Seaside Park, NJ. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River, NJ.
