Kalman “Chip” Matty, Jr. 72, of Bayville, NJ died on Monday December 3, 2018. Chip was born in New Brunswick and lived in Toms River before moving to Bayville 41 years ago. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force in the Vietnam War era. Chip worked for JCP&L as a Tele Communications Technician in Ocean & Monmouth Counties. He was a member of the Bayville First Aid Squad and the IBEW Local.
Chip is predeceased by his parents Kalman Matty, Sr. and Rita (Rudnitzky) Matty and his son David J. Matty. Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Helen (Baroni) Matty; his son Michael Matty and his wife Melissa of Bayville; his sister Marie Jarusiewicz and her husband Frank of Jamesburg, NJ and his grandchildren Jonathan, Emily, and Timothy.
Chip enjoyed participating in all activities that his sons were involved in, acting as a Cub and Boy Scout Leader. He was a basketball coach, soccer coach, and referee for his sons’ teams.
Chip was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be sorely missed.
Family will receive friends on Friday December 7, 2018 for a service from 9-11am at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. Burial will follow to Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Bayville First Aid Squad 660 Atlantic City Blvd. Bayville, NJ 08721.
