Kathleen (Daly) Brew

Kathleen Daly Brew of Toms River, N.J., passed away on November 4, 2025 at peace.

Born in Manhattan, N.Y.C., she was raised in Brooklyn and Queens. She was married to her dearly departed husband George Henry Brew, Sr. at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church in January 1959 in Queens Village, N.Y. They were married to each other throughout their lives. They moved to New Jersey and lived in Keyport and Old Bridge before moving to Toms River, raising five sons. Her beloved husband George passed away in November 2016.

Kathleen was a Toms River Schools crossing guard for over 30 years, retiring in 2023.

Kathleen was a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Toms River. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 1, Toms River, and was active with the Seaside Heights St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Jersey Shore Irish American Club. She was the Ocean County St. Patrick's Parade Committee Woman of the Year for 1999. She volunteered at St. Joseph’s Food Pantry.

Kathleen was predeceased by her sisters Francis and Agnes and brother Gregory.

Kathleen is survived by her five sons, Kevin Brew and his wife, Lisa Alercio-Brew, of Newport, R.I., Brian Brew of Toms River, Timothy Brew of Toms River, Sean Brew and his wife, Dorothy McCabe, of South Amboy, N.J., and George Brew Jr. of Toms River; seven grandchildren, Michael and his wife Bennice, Daniel and his wife Angeline, Kevin, Sean and his wife Melanie, Madeline, Mary Kate, and Caitlin, and one great-granddaughter Larissa Rose Brew of Hong Kong.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 9, 2025 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph R.C. Church, Toms River. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
