Kathleen A. “Candy” Donahue (nee Duffy), 72, of Greenbriar Woodlands, Toms River, NJ, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
Born in Jersey City, she lived in Irvington and Point Pleasant before moving to Toms River 18 years ago. Candy was a 1969 graduate of Dickinson High School, Jersey City, and worked in the Bookkeeping Department of the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department until she retired in 2014.
She was a member of the Vintage Automobile Club, the Sentimental Cruisers, Jersey Shore Irish American Club, an honorary member of Sigma Kappa Phi and a former bagpiper for St. Brendan the Navigator Pipes and Drums. She was a parishioner of St. Martha’s RC Church, Point Pleasant, and St. Luke’s RC Church, Toms River.
Candy was known for her crochetting talent and craft skills and many people have been gifted with her blankets, scarves, holiday ornaments and decorations.
Candy was predeceased by her parents John and Edna Duffy. Candy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Kevin Donahue, two daughters Kelly Ann Winters and her husband Michael of Toms River and Tara Wilson of Brick, five grandchildren Colin, Kaitlyn, Connor, Chase and Cameron, a brother Jack Duffy and his wife Kristen of Pleasanton, CA, and a sister Carol Farrell and her husband Bill of Allendale, NJ as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. Lukes RC Church, Toms River.
