Lorraine Lorello Obituary

Lorraine F. Lorello, 88, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025.  Lorraine, “Chairman of the Boardwalk” spent her childhood summers in Manasquan Beach (the  Jersey Shore), where she met the love of her life, Frank, when she was 13 and Frank was 15 years old.  They married in 1957 and passionately enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Lorraine was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ and graduated from Synder High School. She briefly worked at the American Can Company, and after marriage, moved from Jersey City to North Arlington, NJ, Rochelle Park, NJ, and Naperville, IL, while raising her four children. When she and Frank retired, they moved back to the Jersey Shore, where they split time residing in Manasquan Beach and Toms River.

“Bingo Rainy” enthusiastically enjoyed playing bingo everywhere she lived with her family and dear friends. Lorraine was a very lucky lady and enjoyed numerous and memorable trips to Atlantic City with Frank and her family, most often coming home a winner!

Lorraine was known for her unique and rich sense of humor.  The iPad she received as a Christmas gift from her “Frankie” years ago made her a text savvy and Bitmoji queen. Her family and friends will greatly miss the morning and evening text messages that she sent on a daily basis.

She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making dishes from her Polish, German, and Sicilian family’s recipes. Her cooking was one of the many ways she expressed love to her family and friends.  The breakfast and dinner tables at her home kept everyone wanting to sit for hours while enjoying her gift of gab.

Lorraine was a loving mother and grandmother, and enjoyed babysitting and providing childcare to many family members and friends throughout her life.

Preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Barbara Hoyne, her brother Donald (Rita), sister Jean, and sister Gloria (Raymond).

She is survived by her loving husband Frank, daughter Jean, daughter Barbara (Susan Stewart), son Thomas (Daniela Morselli) and son Joseph; four grandchildren: Rose, Robert, Tara, and Vince, and three great-grandchildren.

Lorraine leaves a legacy of boundless, unconditional love and compassion that will endure in the hearts of the family and friends she leaves behind.
