Margaret Husar Obituary

Margaret Husar (nee French), 81, of Seaside Park, NJ, passed away Monday, June 1, 2026.

Born in Trenton, NJ, on April 14, 1945 she lived in Marlboro, NJ before moving to Seaside Park in 2005.

Margaret was a graduate of Rider University, Lawrence Twp., NJ and was a parishioner of St. Catharine Siena RC Church, Seaside Park, NJ.

Maggi or as some knew her, “Maggi on the Beach”, was a bright and vibrant woman.  She was a loving mother, a cherished sister, a devoted friend, and the best Grammie. She loved the beaches of Seaside Park, her friends, and her family.  Maggi had a social calendar that was hard to keep up with.  She looked forward to her Lunch Bunch and dinner with her friends.  Whether she was playing canasta, day-tripping, making bows and wreaths to decorate the town, accessorizing her Kentucky Derby hat for the party…she didn’t skip a beat.  If she was not at a social event, you could find her basking in the sun with a good book on the ‘O’ Street beach by day or making beautiful counted cross-stitched art by night.

More importantly, Maggi adored her 14 grandchildren. She loved nothing more than being their Grammie.  She loved celebrating all of their academic achievements, athletic accomplishments and many other successes.  She was “If Mommy says no, ask Grammie.”  She spoiled them with so much love…and treats; including the four-legged ones!  Having spent every summer in Seaside Park with her children, she worked to ensure that “Grammie’s Beach” remained just as special, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime.

Maggi’s faith and devotion to her community were important parts of her life, and she formed lasting friendships wherever she went.  Her laughter, kindness, generosity and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Katherine French and her sons in law Peter Martorana in 2017 and Vincent Reeves in 2022.

Margaret is survived by her six children, Jennifer Reeves of Jackson, NJ, Rachel Paris and her husband Scott of Westfield, NJ, Matthew Husar and his wife Nicole of Monmouth Beach, NJ, Elizabeth Ball and her husband Dr. Geoffrey Ball, of West Chester, PA, Katherine Martorana of Point Pleasant, NJ, and Timothy Husar and his wife Jennifer of Ocean Twp., NJ, her sister, Sister Katherine Francis French, SP of Indiana, and fourteen grandchildren; Tyler, Chloe, Kayla, Shane, Mason, Jake, Charlie, Jack, Kate, Will, Ben, Grace, Maxwell and Bodhi.
