Maria (Schifilliti) Sims

Maria Sims, 94 of Berkeley Township, passed from this life peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

Maria was born July 25, 1930 in Tripoli, Libya to the late Antonino and Marianna Schifilliti.  She is best described as a very independent woman who was good hearted and generous.  She loved shopping and giving gifts to others but was happiest when she was surrounded by her family.  She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

Maria is predeceased by her parents, Antonino Schifilliti; Marianna Platino Schifilliti; husband, Billy Sims; brothers, Ugo Schifilliti; Paul Schifilliti; sister, Lidia Venturini; nephew, Anthony Schifilliti; Giancarlo Schifilliti; and her little dog, Bailey.

Maria is survived by her brother, Giuseppe Schifilliti and his wife Elizabeth; Sisters-In-Law Franca Schifilliti and Carmelina Schifilliti, Brothers-In Law Guy Sims and Tom Sims; Nieces and Nephews Anna, Nina, Roberto, Adriana, Giuseppina and Luciano, Giovanna, Claudio and Clara, Irene, Rosanna, Anna, Anthony, Annmarie and Joseph.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 4pm to 8pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Thursday, May 1, 2025 at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church with Burial to follow at Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.
