It with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Marilyn Bliem, 84, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7th, 2024. Born on March 19, 1940, in Newark New Jersey, and raised in Bloomfield, New Jersey, Marilyn is a graduate of Bloomfield High School. Marilyn and her husband Eddie moved to Toms River in 1969. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Louise Shear (Paolerchi), her husband, Edwin Bliem, her brother-in-law, William Bliem and her brother-in-law, John Rodgers. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Rodgers as well as her brother Robert Shear and his wife, Rise Corneliussen. She was a loving Aunt to Debbie Bliem, Billy Bliem, Kevin Bliem, Terry Angello, and Anne Duff, and cultivated lifelong relationships with so many friends. Aunt Marilyn loved life and the simple things that most people take for granted. Taking long walks and bike rides to see the flowers, decorations for the holidays and fireworks in Point Pleasant. She traveled extensively, finding wonder in all the beauty that surrounded her. She was a skier, a hiker, a swimmer, and loved exercise and fresh air. Marilyn adored children and would frequently babysit for her friends and family. She was an awesome tennis player who had won many awards competing. She was a huge fan of country music, particularly of Johnny Cash and George Strait and would go to concerts at Albert Hall whenever she could. Another favorite past time was going to high school football games where she would look forward to the halftime shows with the bands.
Visitation will be Monday, November 18th, 2024 2:00pm - 6:00pmTimothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 995 Fischer Blvd. Toms River, NJ 08753. A Funeral Service will be on Tuesday at the funeral home 11am, Burial will follow to BG William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
