Marjorie Helen Maffei, 72, of Jackson died unexpectedly at Ocean Medical Center surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 19, 2022. Marjorie was born November 1, 1949 in Bloomfield, New Jersey before moving to Brick and graduating from Brick Township High School. She worked for the United States Army at Fort Monmouth until her retirement. She is best described as a patient, kind, loving, thoughtful person who is always there to offer help whenever needed. She enjoyed time with family, friends and baking the most delicious chocolate chip cookies for everyone for the holidays. She was known for her creativity evidenced by the beautiful cards and gifts she created. To say she will be greatly missed is a gross understatement.

Marjorie was predeceased by her parents Ed Merkel and Mary (Alice) Jones Merkel.

Marjorie is survived by her son Joseph and his wife Joanne of Jackson; brothers Ed Merkel and his wife Ellen of New Brunswick, Robert (Bobby)Merkel and his wife Squeak of Toms River; sisters of Lois Matteson and late Carl Matteson of Pompton Lakes, MaryAlice Lippmann of Manchester; and her grandchildren Arianna, Joseph, Millie and Zoie along with many nieces and nephews.” You Are My Sunshine”
