It is with heavy hearts but cherished memories that we say goodbye to a beautiful soul, Marjorie Theresa Medeiros (Bambrick) of Toms River, Marjorie was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She entered eternal rest on 31 August 2023 at the age of 89.
Marjorie passed peacefully at Monmouth County Medical Center, survived by her husband of 70 years, Louis Soares Medeiros. She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Margery Bambrick (King), her sisters Margaret “Louise” Kmetz, Stella Pike, and brothers George and Michael.
Marjorie’s journey began in the heart of Newfoundland at the capital of St John’s where she graduated from St Patrick’s Convent School. She taught at the school between 1951 and 1952.
It was during this time that she embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship with her beloved husband, Louis whom she married on 4 July 1953.
After raising her family Marjorie returned to the workforce, working retail sales at Macy’s Department Store. In her later years Marjorie enjoyed travel, swimming, Bocce, and playing Mahjong and cards with her sister Louise and girlfriends at their local community clubhouse.
Besides her husband Louis, she is survived by her four children Judy Hynds (Tom) of Bradenton, Florida, Michael (Bridget) Medeiros of Gilbert, Arizona, Diane Medeiros of Windsor, California, Louis (Sheila) Medeiros of Fair Lawn, New Jersey and by sisters Rosalita (George) Holland of Ontario, Canada, and Sharon Grant (Brian) of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Marjorie is also survived by her 7 grandchildren Alessa Laraia, John Setticase, Heather (Kevin) Gould, Melissa (Jason Miller) Russ, Shannon (Jeff) Forman, Timothy (Riki) Medeiros, and Ashley DeMeo (Trip) and 8 great-grandchildren Gabriella, Patrick, and Emilia Laraia, Brayton and Callie Gould, Madison Miller, Liv Dela Cruz, and Aubree DeMeo.
The family will receive friends from 3 - 7pm, Tuesday September 5th at Timothy E. Ryan Funeral Home, 145 St Catherine Blvd, Toms River. A funeral mass will be held 10 am Wednesday, September 6th at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Toms River, followed by burial at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, N.J., at 12:30pm.
