Mary Mondoro Obituary

Mary Mondoro, 73 years of age, of Toms River, NJ, died on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Ocean Medical Center.  Mary was born and raised in Plainfield, NJ and was a graduate of Plainfield High School, class of 1966.  She lived in White House Station and Branchburg before moving to Toms River six years ago.  She was recently retired.

Mary had been a Legal Secretary for many years for the Law Offices of Raymond R. and Ann W. Trombadore in Somerville and then, most recently, for DeNoia, Tambasco and Germann in Toms River.  In her youth, she won awards for being one of the fastest and most accurate typists in New Jersey.  Prior to having children, she once lived and worked in Fredericksburg, Virginia and then moved to Fairbanks, Alaska for a year.  She used to tell of her memories of the one Christmas that she spent there where the actual temperature was 70 degrees below zero.   Although she would not fly, Mary enjoyed road trips with her sisters and looked forward to more adventures with the three “Grammy’s on the Go.”  She had a great sense of humor and was extremely competitive, traits that she passed down to her children and grandchildren.  She loved to tease her board game opponents, relentlessly.  There was nothing she enjoyed more nor valued more than her family.

Mary is predeceased by her parents Dominick and Angelina Mondoro of North Plainfield, NJ.

Surviving Mary are her sons Brian Reilly of Saylorsburg, PA and his wife Alyssa Lopiano-Reilly, Esq. and Scott Reilly of Flemington, NJ and his wife, Heather Reilly.  She is also survived by her sisters, Ginger Feola and Susan Gately, and her four beloved grandchildren: Samantha, Liam, Bailey and Jessica who were the highlights of her life.  Mary is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins on the Reilly,  Mondoro and Pasquerello sides of her family.  She is also survived by precious life-long friends.

The arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals. Committal will be via a private ceremony at Hillside Cemetery in Plainfield where Mary will be laid to rest with her beloved parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ 08887.
