Mary Joyce (Adie) Kemp

Mary Joyce Kemp, 68, of Bayville, NJ, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022.

Born in Bayonne, NJ, she lived in Toms River, NJ, before moving to Bayville three years ago.

Mary Joyce was a proud graduate of Holy Family Academy in Bayonne. She was a Legal Secretary for Frank Salzer of Salzer & Salzer LLC, for 30 years, in Toms River.

Mary Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Robert Kemp, her parents John and Mary (Lennon) Adie, her brother Robert Adie, and her sister Joan Ellen Hession.

She will be forever missed by her family; son Jeffrey and his wife Marli Kemp of Easton, PA, daughter Jaclyn and her husband Daniel Marynowski of Bayville, NJ, son Sean and his wife Seda Kemp of California, her sister Barbara Mizerek, her 7 grandchildren; Lèon Kemp, Bobby Kemp, Charlotte Kemp, Shay Marynowski, McKenzie Kemp, Emerson Kemp, Blake Marynowski, her brother and sister-in-law Gerry & Brian Collins, as well as the Boyle, Hession, O’Brien, Collins & Lise nieces and nephews.

Mary Joyce shared many exceptional, long-lasting friendships, especially with the Lennon cousins, the Lefantes and the Del Pretes.

Mary Joyce found the silver lining in the darkest of clouds and could often be heard repeating Dee Dee’s favorite saying, reminding everyone, “It’s Nice to Be Nice”. 

The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 3 to 7pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ. A funeral service will be offered Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow to the First Baptist Cemetery of Laurelton, 1824 NJ 88, Brick, NJ.

A Memorial Mass in memory of Mary will also be offered at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Toys for Tots in her memory.
