Michael Dachowicz, 85 of Toms River, passed from this life peacefully at his home surrounded by family in the Gardens of Pleasant Plains.
Michael was born April 7, 1940 in Jersey City to the late Joseph and Josephine Dachowicz. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. Michael was raised by his aunt and uncle in Port Arthur, Texas. He was very proud of his New Jersey heritage and would walk up to complete strangers not afraid to strike up a conversation about his beloved Yankees and NY Giants. He worked in construction until he had an accident causing him to teach himself how to walk again.
Michael is predeceased by his parents, Joseph Dachowicz; Josephine Arcenia of Jersey City. Michael was raised by his loving Uncle Stack and Aunt Jane of Toms River.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Maryjane Dachowicz of 24 years; step daughter Dawn Wenning, son In Law James, grandson Jarad, step son Terrence Weseloski and wife Betty; without forgetting Lucky and Linus his two little Bichon Frises.
Memories of Mike include his passion for his country and American Flag. He loved IHOP and Atlantic City and fishing at the Jersey Shore. Michael leaves behind the hopes that his family is safe, happy and continues finding joy in the little things.
At a later date, Michaels remains will be laid to rest with his spouse in the BG William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
All services will be handled by Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River privately.
