Michael A. Picciallo

Michael A. Picciallo (Coach Pic), 91 of Holiday City Carefree section of Berkeley Township, NJ passed away on Monday July 29, 2024 at home.

He was born on Christmas day in Hackensack, NJ to Francesco and Angelina Picciallo, he was the youngest of ten children, he had lived in Emerson NJ and Chester, NY before moving to Berkeley Township, NJ 16 years.

Michael was a graduate of Hackensack High and he received his Bachelor Degree from Shippensburg State, PA and his Masters from Jersey City College. After graduation he became a Teacher and taught at Bergen Catholic, St. Joseph Regional School in Montvale, NJ and Sugar Loaf School District in Sugar Loaf, NY , but it was Bergen Catholic where his love of coaching Football began “Coach Pic” loved coaching young people in the sport of football and life. He also coached at St. Joseph’s and began the football program at Fairleigh Dickinson in Teaneck. Michael loved all sports . He was a diehard NY Giants and Yankee fan. We all knew not to call during “the game”. He also loved dancing ( in his younger days), playing cards, bocce ball and darts and was a member of several clubs at Holiday City. And he loved Macaroni of any kind.

Michael proudly served in the US Army..

He was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Township, NJ.

He is preceded in death by his wife Louise (Virag), and his siblings ; Nicholas , Mary, Benjamin, Grace, Carmella Antoinette, Lucy Frank, and Joseph.

He is survived by his Children; Michael and his wife Cathy, Donna and Anthony and his wife Juliet and his beloved granddaughter, Isabella

Family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday August 3, 2024 from 10am to 1pm with a 12 noon Service at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 706 Rt 9, Bayville, NJ 08721. Committal will be Private.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
