Michael A. Surck, 65, of Forked River, went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2022, surrounded
by his loving wife and children. We hope our Dad's version of heaven is big open fields, forests,
mountains, and has an endless supply of guns and ammo. We pray he is surrounded by his
beloved fur babies that crossed the rainbow bridge. We are all incredibly blessed that a certain
little girl pulled an apple from a display and brought him into our lives.
Mike was born in Perth Amboy and he resided in New Jersey most of his life, before settling in
Forked River nearly 15 years ago. He proudly served his country in the Navy and Army. He was
most proud of his role as a husband, father, and Pop Pop. He married the love of his life Ginny
on July 29, 2001. They spent more than 20 wonderful years together raising their family. The
moment they met they had an instant connection, they were truly soulmates. He lived his life
for his family and was always there and involved in every aspect of our lives. We are grateful for
the special relationships and we will cherish every moment to keep his memory and our love as
a family alive.
Surviving is his loving wife Ginny Surck, their son, Joshua Bass and his wife Carolyn, their
daughter Stefanie Bass and her fiancé Michael Graves, and their grandchildren Kaylee, Parker,
Serena, and Greyson. He was predeceased by his grandson Michael Greyson George. He was
the youngest of 7 children and leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
We, as a family, are honoring our Dad's wishes and there will not be a funeral or a memorial
service. If you would like to memorialize his memory please make a donation, in his name, to
the Wounded Warrior Project.
Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ is in charge of the arrangements.
