Nadia "Rineh" Akel

Nadia “Rineh” J. Akel, 85, of Toms River, NJ passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025.

Born in Jerusalem, Israel, she lived in Chicago, Illinois before moving to Toms River in 1990.

Rineh worked in Food Service for the Chicago Public School System and at various nursing homes.

She was predeceased by her husband Jabra in 2019 and her daughter Laura.

Rineh is survived by her three children Hilda Halaweh of Brick, NJ, Lina Moses and her husband Richard of Chicago, IL, Ilia “Louie” Akel and his wife Maysa of Toms River, NJ, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 10:00am until a 12:00pm funeral service at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ.
