Penny M. (Engelmann) Cole

Penny M. Cole (nee Engelmann), 78, of Toms River, NJ, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025.

Born in Red Bank, NJ, she grew up in West Keansburg, NJ and moved to Toms River in 1970.

Penny was owner of multiple locations of Dunkin’ Donuts in Toms River for many years.  Penny will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her kindness and generosity, and her devotion to her family.

Penny was predeceased by her parents Donald and Joeanna (Brookes) Engelmann and two brothers Donald, Jr. and Gary Engelmann.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard Cole; two daughters, Jennifer Cole and her husband Aaron Celestian of Los Angeles, CA, and Rebecca Smyth of Toms River; and three grandchildren Cole Smyth, Alexander and Oliver Celestian.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.

Services are under the direction of the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 995 Fischer Blvd., Toms River.
