Peter P. Coughlin

Peter P. Coughlin, 75, of Leisure Village West section of Manchester Twp., NJ, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, he lived in Cliffside Park, NJ for most of his life before moving to Pompton Lake, NJ and retiring to Leisure Village West in Manchester Twp.

Peter worked for NJ Bell as a Computer Operator, became a Tech Specialist at Witco Corporation and in his later years worked Custodial/Bus Driver for the Cliffside Park and Emerson Boards of Education.

He will be remembered for his love of family, his kindness, his good humor, laughter and, most of all, his love of music, particularly The Beatles and 60’s Rock n’ Roll. He will be forever loved and missed by all.

Peter was the loving husband of Catherine Coughlin, the beloved son of the late Peter J. Coughlin and Rita Theresa Connolly Fiume of Toms River, NJ, father of Christian Coughlin and his wife Stephanie of West Nyack, NY and Thomas Coughlin of Manchester, NJ, and Grandfather to Avery and Reagan Coughlin.

He is also survived by his stepchildren James MacAdam and his wife Kelli and their children Ronan, Elilai, and Innes of Virginia and Amy and Kevin Metcalfe and their children Jacob and Adam of Wood Ridge, NJ.

Peter is also survived by his two sisters and brothers in law, Kathleen and Al Foster and their daughter Meghan Foster of Hackensack, NJ, and Rita and Tom Baranowski and their daughters Kimberly Baranowski and Jennifer Gwaltney of Florida.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, September 15, 2024 1:00pm – 5:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, September 16, 2024 10:00am at St. John’s RC Church, Lakehurst, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peter may be sent to St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, 619 Chestnut St., Lakehurst, NJ 08733.
