Peter Portalatin

Peter Portalatin, 67, of Holiday City West section of Berkeley Twp., NJ  passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 surrounded by his beloved family.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Old Bridge, NJ for 30 years before moving to Berkeley Twp. 5 years ago.

Peter worked in the Medicaid Pharmaceutical Department for Horizon New Jersey Health for 20 years, retiring in 2020.

Peter received his Associates Degree from New York City Community College.

He was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, Pedro Portalatin and Rosa Silva

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Malia (nee Gatti), two sons Peter Portalatin and his wife Heidi of Nutley, NJ, Paul Portalatin of Asbury Park, NJ, three sisters Rosemary Bakelac and her husband Frank of Gainesville, GA, Geni Natic and her husband Edwin of Cummings, GA, Milagros Gutierrez-Colon and her husband Charlie of Brooklyn, NY, a brother Jose Gutierrez and his wife Jacky of Long Island, NY, a grandson Kevin Torres, brothers in law and sisters in law Nicholas Gatti and his wife May of Dumont, NJ, Philip Gatti and his wife Catherine of  Berkeley Twp., NJ, Deborah Somerville and her husband James of Berkeley Twp., NJ, and an aunt Ramona Delgado of Puerto Rico.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday 10:00am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp.
