Peter J. Scarnaty

Peter J. Scarnaty, 90, of Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024.

Born in Paterson, NJ, he lived in Fairlawn, NJ before moving to Berkeley Twp. 11 years ago.

Peter was a Plumber and owner of Peter Scarnaty Plumbing and Heating in Fairlawn, NJ for many years before retiring in 2003.

He served as a Medic in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958.

Peter was predeceased by his first wife Lois Scarnaty in 1980 and his second wife Helen Scarnaty in 2018, 

He is survived by his four children Diane Hamelink of Toms River, Peter Scarnaty of Toms River, Michael Scarnaty of Florida and Suzi Fortuna of Toms River, a brother Raymond Scarnaty of Pennsylvania, a sister Rose Marie of New Jersey, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, September 30, 2024 10:00am – 12:00pm with a funeral service to be offered at 11:30am at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.  Entombment to follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River.
