Philip J. Citta, Sr., 80 of Toms River, passed from this life peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024. Philip was born in Toms River to the late Joseph and Margaret Citta on December 11, 1943. He was 80 years old. Philip was born hearing- impaired , but never let that get in the way of a full abundant life he led. He had many friends and many fantastic relationships as he was truly a remarkable decent human being. He was involved with the Ocean County Deaf Club for many years, he was employed at his father’s restaurant the Red Lion located in Brick, NJ and worked for the United States government for 25 years at Fort Monmouth.
Philip is predeceased by his parents, Joseph Citta; Margaret Lemon Citta , grandson David Egner- Citta and also his sister, Barbara Juranich.
Philip is survived by his son, Philip J Citta, Jr. and his wife Laura; daughter, Cynthia Citta; grandchildren; Marissa Citta, 28, Leyla Citta 21 , Joseph Citta, 19, two great- grandchildren: Aliyah 13, and baby David 3 months , and also his two sisters, Pat Havey and JoAnne Monts
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm with a Service to begin at 7pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.ryanfuneralhome.com
