Phyllis N. Charters

Phyllis N Charters of Toms River, New Jersey, formerly of Melbourne, Florida, and Fort Washington, Pennsylvania passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021. She was 92 years old.

Born in Hatfield, she was the daughter of late Casper and Jean Neiman of Glenside, Pa.

Phyllis grew up in Glenside, and graduated from Abington High School. She married George W Charters in 1948 after he was discharged from the Navy. Phyllis was a member of the Questor's, The Red Hat Society’s and the ELK’s Lodge 2151 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed volunteering at the local thrift shop and Food Kitchen, searching for treasure at the flea markets, dancing, and animal’s, her years living in Florida, and spending time with her family. Phyllis was a member of the Ambler Church of the Brethren.

Phyllis is survived by her three daughters Beth Anne Peirce of Collegeville, Barbara Anne Guest of Hatfield, and Georganne Bruno of Toms River, NJ; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years George W. Charters, her son George W. Charters, Jr, who was killed in the Vietnam War, an infant daughter Gail, and three siblings.

Phyllis and George Charters interment will be 11:00am, May 1, 2021 at Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn, Pa. In lieu of flower contributions may be made in Phyllis and George Charters memory to the Ambler Church of the Brethren, 351 E Butler Ave, Ambler, Pa. 19002.
