Rachelle A. Farrell, 66, of Lavallette, NJ, retired Registered Nurse, passed away into God’s arms, September 26, 2022. Born in Jersey City, NJ to father Pasquale Ionno and mother Lucile Burgoyne, she attended Memorial High School in West New York, and graduated from Toms River North High School. She then received an Associate’s Degree from Ocean County Community College in Nursing, and completed courses toward a Bachelor’s Degree which helped her excel even more in how she cared for her patients.
She lived in Toms River, Bayville, and South Toms River, before moving to Lavallette in 2012. Rachelle was an accomplished Registered Nurse for over 20 years. She worked at Community Medical Center and excelled in Case Management and Nursing Administration at Barnabas Health including heading up a vent unit. Rachelle achieved an Outstanding Academic and Clinical Experience award.
She loved teaching her children and grandchildren how to cook, as well as gardening, reading, and traveling with her husband. Rachelle was an active parishioner of the Parish of St. Pio of Pietrelcina, Lavallette, NJ, where she volunteered as a CCD teacher.
Rachelle is survived by her husband, Francis, son Pasquale Givelekian (Francesca), daughter Nicole Donnelly (Christine), two brothers; Ernest and Louis Ionno, two stepsons; Shawn Farrell (Michele) and Brian Farrell, as well as five grandchildren; Conor, Emma, Matteo, Marianna, and Jameson. She is predeceased by two sisters; Patti Lou and Lucille. Rachelle also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly, and two cherished pets that she loved as children, Annie and Midnight.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 4 to 7pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 706 Grand Central Ave., Lavallette, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 10am at the Parish of St. Pio of Pietrelcina, Lavallette, NJ.
