Ralph J. Zara, Sr.

Ralph J. Zara, Sr., 83 of Toms River, passed from this life peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025. Ralph was born January 11.1942 in Irvington, New Jersey. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was always known to have a great sense of humor. He was a devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Yankees. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Ralph is predeceased by his parents, Gerard Zara and Mildred Simonsen Maytidu; sisters, Diane Graf; Barbara Maytidu; brothers, Richard Maytidu and Joseph Maytidu.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Jean Gevers Zara; son, Ralph Zara, Jr., and his wife Robin of Jackson; daughter, Doreen D’Anna and her husband Patrick of Neptune; brother, Alexander Maytidu of Florida; grandchildren, Jennifer; Ralph; James; great grandchildren, Carley; Johnathan; Piper; and Jaxson.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 10am to 12pm with a Service to begin at 12pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River with Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
