Richard E. Barker

Richard E. Barker, 83 of the Leisure Village West section of Manchester died on October 19, 2024.  Born in West New York, NJ he lived in Brick and Toms River before moving to Manchster in 2021.  Richard was a Navy veteran and worked as a Merchant Seaman for the US Government with Military Sealift Command.  He traveled the world and loved to share the stories of his adventures with his friends and family.  Richard loved to read, listen to his favorite music and cook.

Richard is predeceased by his wife Joan A (Lettich) Barker, his parents Eugene Barker and Catherine (Mannion) Barker as well as his brothers Eugene, Larry and Robert.   Richard is survived by his daughter Lara Licata and her husband Paul, his son Matthew and his wife Melissa, along with his five grandchildren, Nicholas, Sarah, Sophia Evan and Ava. He is also survived by his sister Virgina Dominic of Galloway, NJ and his brother Bill Barker of Shelton, WA.   

Services will be held on October 22, 2024 from 3:00pm - 6:00pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals at 145 St. Catherine Blvd Toms River NJ 08755.  Private Committal.
