Rita Avagliano Fochesato, age 98, long time resident of New Jersey, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024 at Heath Village Nursing Home in Hackettstown, NJ.
Born on December 15, 1926 in Maplewood, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and May Avagliano.
Rita was a resident of Silver Ridge Park North in Berkeley Twp. for over 35 years and was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Berkeley Twp., NJ. She loved doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, cooking, and sewing. She loved animals and feeding the deer that visited her Toms River home daily.
Rita was the wife of the late John Fochesato. Surviving her are her three children, Nancy Noerpel and her husband Tony, Paul Fochesato and his wife Lori, and Linda Rodriguez and her husband Jose. She also has six grandchildren, Diane, Matthew, Kellie, Joseph, Ahna and Jonathan and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Timothy E. Ryan Funeral Home at 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, NJ on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 8:30am – 9:30am. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00am at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church in Berkeley Twp., NJ. Burial to follow at the Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at 12:30pm at 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, since she loved all animals, especially the service dogs where she lived in Randolph the past 2 ½ years, contributions are requested to be made in her memory to the United States Humane Society.
