Robert Hine Obituary

Robert E. Hine, 77, of the Renaissance section of Manchester, NJ, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 at home.

Born in Jersey City, NJ, he lived in East Brunswick, NJ before moving to Manchester 19 years ago.

Robert was Police Officer for the Jersey City Police Department for 35 years, retiring as a Sergeant in 2002. He was a member of the Jersey City Police Superior Officers Association.

He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Renaissance Golf Club.
Robert was predeceased by his siblings, Harry, Billy, George, Richard, Diane and Kenny.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joanne (nee Varsalone), his four children and their spouses Robert A. and Bonnie Hine of South Carolina, Brian and Diane Hine of Howell, NJ, Lisa and Rob Larson of Old Bridge, NJ, Michele and Jimmy Leblo of Brick, NJ; his brother Donald Hine of Sayreville, NJ;  eleven grandchildren Robbie and his wife Christina, Christopher, Jamie and her fiancé Chris, Jennifer, Jessica, Valerie, Michael and his fiancée Ally, Megan and her fiancé Tyler, Lauren, Nicole and Jimmy; and four great grandchildren Jameson, Roman, Maita, and Cruz.

Services will be private.  Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River, is in charge of the arrangements.
