Robert J. Armbruster, 80 of Whiting, passed from this life peacefully at his home. Robert was born in Waverly, New York on March 14, 1945. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He served his country honorably and retired after 20 years in the United States Navy. Robert was known for his hard work and dedication to his family. He will be truly missed by all that knew him and for his open-hearted kindness.
Robert is predeceased by his parents, his loving wife, Susan Armbruster, and son, Brian Armbruster.
Robert is survived by his son, Eric Armbruster and his fiancée Karrie; daughter, Suzanne Zalinski and husband, Paul; brother, Harry Armbruster and his wife, Susan; sisters, Mary Jo Carney; Jeanne Denaro; Sister in law Helen Massaro, Grandson David Kindred and fiancée Mickayla, Granddaughters, Megan Armbruster; Emily Kindred; Great grandson, Deekin Kindred; Granddaughters Nova Rowe and Vienna Kindred. Beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, September 8, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at St. Joseph RC Church, Toms River with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, a foundation Robert was part of to help our fallen and disabled armed services, police officers and firefighters.
