Robert James McMonegal

Robert James McMonegal, known to his loved ones as Bob, 85 of Whiting, passed from this life peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Robert was born to the late James and Dorothy McMonegal in Jersey City on November 27, 1938. He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He served his community for 20 years as a Fireman in the NYC Fire Department in the south Bronx, New York and served 5 years with the FDNY Academy. Bob also drove a school bus for 26 years for Haverstraw Transit. He enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, traveling with his family and time spent in Florida with his beloved wife were his most cherished. He was a Patriotic man, a family man and friend to many.  He will be greatly missed.

Robert is predeceased by his parents, James McMonegal; Dorothy Ward McMonegal; sisters, Linda Peters and Annie Woloson.

Robert is survived by his wife and best friend, Carol Karwowski McMonegal; sons, Sean McMonegal and his wife Gina of Orange County New York; Timothy McMonegal and his wife Annette of Rockland County New York; Brian McMonegal and his wife Christine of Orange County, New York; grandchildren, Kiera, Christopher, and Drew.

All Services will be handled privately and under the direction of the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145. St. Catherine Blvd., Toms River.
