Bob lived a fulfilling life as a father, brother, husband and friend. He especially cherished the 62 years with the love of his life, Marilou, sharing in the lives of his children, and the many sandy beach days with his grandchildren.
Born in New Brunswick, NJ, he was a longtime resident of South River, NJ and summered in Normandy Shores from 1977 until moving there permanently in 1993.
Robert received his Bachelors of Science Degree from Monmouth University and, along with his late wife Marilou, owned and operated South River Iron Works for many years.
Robert was predeceased by wife Marianne Louise (nee Milano) in 2021 and his six brothers Ralph, Ronald, Howard, Melvin, Kenneth and Glenn Petersen.
He is survived by his three children Chris Petersen of Brick, NJ, Nicole Petersen Shepard of Summerville, SC, Lou Anne Petersen Conant and her husband Bradford of Superior, CO, and six grandchildren Alexa Petersen, Austin Shepard, Sarah Shepard, Brady Conant, Jacqueline Conant and Tanner Conant.
