Robert H. Richens

Robert H. Richens, 86 of Ohio, passed from this life peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025.  

Robert was born on November 16, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late James and Pauline Richens.  He was a loving husband, devoted father, beloved grandfather (Bobbo), and trusted friend.  He served his country honorably in the United States Navy.  He was a lifelong entrepreneur and authored several patents.  In 1976 he began business as Ohio Technicraft, repairing home and commercial audio-visual equipment.  Through the years, with his wife and son at his side the business grew and changed with the industry through computers, security and telecommunications.  He thoroughly enjoyed drafting, drawing, and modeling designs.  He loved his family dearly and taught them to be strong and confident, leading by example.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Robert is predeceased by his infant son, Robert H., parents, James B. and Pauline (Barnett); brother, James, and sister, Betty. Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marja Van Gent Richens; children, Michele (Bob Becker), Roy, Jenna Stites (Ron); and grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Hannah, Hudson and Holland, the Becker family and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
