Robert J. Sweeney

Robert J. Sweeney, 81, of Bayville, NJ, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021.

Born in Bayonne, NJ, he lived in Colonia, NJ, before moving to Bayville 21 years ago.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army before establishing a career as a Union Electrician for Local IBEW 164 in Jersey City, NJ.

Robert is preceded in death by his beloved wife Christine, as well as his parents Joseph and Margaret Sweeney.

He is survived by his loving sons Robert C. and is wife Terry Sweeney of Bayville, NJ, David Sweeney of Bayville, NJ, his sister Margot Dixon, as well as two grandchildren Joe and Morgan Sweeney.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 12 to 4pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals – O’Connell Chapel, 706 US Hwy 9, Bayville, NJ. A Funeral Service will be offered on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 9am at the funeral home. Interment will follow to Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
